Age Range: 9 Years
Location: Burlington, WA
BONDED PAIR: FISH & TACO
Fish is one of the most loving cats you will ever meet! She demands pets and love from everyone, even if she’s just met them. There is no stranger danger with her! She loves to cuddle and have her belly rubbed. She loves cuddling with her cat sister, Taco, and playing with her when they’re not napping. They play with toy mice and balls, on their cat tree, and in cat pop-up tunnels. Fish always has to be cuddling Taco or one of our dogs (when they let her). She even lets our old dog groom her – she’s so sweet and patient.
Fish, like Taco, also has no teeth! They’ve all been removed over the years. She also couldn’t care less that she’s toothless. She even still prefers eating dry food and doesn’t have any special needs with this.
Fish has a few medical conditions – none of which require medication nor impact her quality of life. She is deaf, or mostly deaf. All this means is that her meows sound a little different and sometimes she is surprised to find you home when she wakes up from a nap. Fish has mild Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH). All this means for Fish is that she’s a bit uncoordinated: she walks a little crooked and isn’t able to jump up high. She can jump onto the couch, but not onto a table or kitchen counter. Fish requires that her food, water, and litterbox be at ground level – that’s it!
The reason we’re looking to re-home Fish and Taco is that we are having co-habitation problems between the cats and our dogs. One of our dogs has been chasing and nipping at the cats. In response, Taco has taken to peeing outside her box. She only does this when she’s angry or unhappy. Fish, on the other hand, has no litterbox problems. She’s never peed nor pooped outside her box.
However, because she is inseparable from her sister, Taco, and we would like them to be rehomed together. Fish loves her sister more than anything – she loves to snuggle her, groom her, play with her, and just be around her. They would do fine in a home with mellow dogs who won’t chase them and with other cats, but would also be very happy as only pets. Fish & Taco have so much love and life to give, and they deserve to be in a home where they can live their best lives!
